Membership Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) for your membership of Kentish Town Stores Limited (“KTS”) and the use of a fixed desk space in the Studio upstairs, form a binding contract between the Member and KTS.

General Terms
The Studio at Kentish Town Stores is a coworking space for freelancing professionals, small and medium sized businesses, and start-ups.
Use of the space is reserved for members who have signed our Membership Terms and Conditions and are up to date with all payments.
Every member will have access seven days a week to their fixed desk space, the members kitchen and use of the store facilities within building hours.
The Studio is a shared office space, there will be background music and we do not expect our members to be silent. However, we do expect everyone to be respectful of their surroundings and of the other members using the space.
Phone calls are permitted at a discrete level, however, any call or face-to-face conversation over five minutes in length, or multiple calls within a short space of time, should be taken away from your desk so as not to disturb other members concentration levels. For this you are very welcome to use the members kitchen or the Store itself.
The Studio is a positive workspace for the local community, and we ask all members to treat our staff, facilities, other members, and guests with respect. If at any time you have an issue or concern with noise or other anti-social activity in the space, please do talk to a member of the team.
KTS reserve the right to refuse a membership application or to terminate a membership without giving notice.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building at any time.
Your Membership
Your membership will begin on the day your application is confirmed, your first invoice is raised and receipt of your signed Membership Terms and Conditions.
Your first invoice will be pro rata for the remaining number of days within the calendar month.
You will then be invoiced on the last working day of each month for the following months fees which are to be paid in advance. This will continue for the duration of your membership.
Invoices are paid by BACS, or online as standard. If you would prefer to pay instore by card, please speak to a member of the team.
Invoices are due on the day they are raised and if funds have not cleared within three working days of the due date, your membership will be suspended and access to the space will be denied until payment has been received.
Please make sure you speak to a member of the team if you need to make a specific payment arrangement outside of the standard terms and conditions.
Should you no longer require access to the space you can cancel your membership by giving one months’ written notice via email to hello@kentishtownstores.com.
If you cancel your membership halfway through a billing cycle, your one months’ notice will come into effect on the date your next invoice is due.
KTS reserve the right to cancel a membership at any time if a member is in breach of any terms within this agreement or for any behaviour deemed to be inappropriate by the management. In this situation, fees will not be reimbursed.
Access
The Studio is open for coworking use at the following times:
Monday – Friday | 07:00 - 17:30
Saturday & Sunday | 08:00 – 17:30
Last Thursday of the month the store opens late.
Access times remain subject to change with one weeks written notice.
KTS will be closed, and there will be no access to the space, on Christmas Day & New Year’s Day, as well as the week between these two dates. Closure dates will be confirmed in December of each year.
You are not permitted to remain in the space overnight.
Kitchen and Dining Area
Included in your membership is the use of the members kitchen and dining area.
There is a fridge, microwave, kettle and dishwasher for you to use while you work in the space.
Also provided will be complimentary tea bags, milk and a weekly fruit bowl.
Please do be considerate of other members when using this space and ensure you have cleared away any food, drink, cutlery, and crockery etc. once you have finished.
All cutlery and crockery is dishwasher safe and we ask that you would place used dishes etc. into the dishwasher after use.
We cannot take responsibility for food that is left in the fridge or communal areas.
Any food that is left in the fridge past its use by date or left out at night will be disposed of.
The fridge will be cleared every Friday night, so please remember to take home anything you would like to keep.
Storage & Valuables
KTS do not recommend leaving valuables in the Studio overnight and can take no responsibility for members who choose to do so.
Please note, we cannot store any large items for members, even on a temporary basis.
Members must make sure all electrical items are unplugged at the end of each day.
Members remain responsible at all times for all possessions brought into the space. We recommend you keep valuables with you at all times and that you have appropriate insurance in place to cover against theft or damage.
KTS is not responsible for the loss or damage of any member’s possessions left in the Studio.
WiFi
WiFi is provided for members on a password protected network.
The WiFi password must not be shared with guests or third parties. Should it be required, there is a separate guest network available for Non-Members.
Members are not permitted to install computer equipment or servers within the space, or use the internet provided in any way that would have an adverse effect on another member or KTS business activities.
WiFi is not guaranteed at all times, however, we will endeavour to do our best to resolve any issues in the service in a timely manner.
Dogs
As a business we are dog friendly to friendly dogs and you are very welcome to bring your dog to work with you.
If you do bring your dog, please be mindful of other members using the space and remember that not all members will like dogs.
Dogs must be with their owners at all times and are not permitted to roam the building off the lead.
Members are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs in the event of an accident or any other mess created.
If we receive complaints about a specific dog, we may ask your dog to have some time away from the space until things have settled down.
KTS reserves the right to refuse admittance to any dog.
Deliveries and Post
We are very happy to accept small letters and parcels on a Member’s behalf, however, we cannot accept responsibility for any lost, stolen or damaged letters and parcels.
If you are expecting the delivery of a large item, please do speak to a member of the team. We will help where we can, but we do not have storage space for large items.
Printing
There is an onsite inkjet printer, and we are happy to print small quantities for you from time-to-time.
Should you require larger printing quantities, or require regular use of the printer, please talk to a member of the team and we will see if we can accommodate this.
Fire Safety
Fire alarm tests will be carried out in the space, we will notify members before these tests are carried out.
In the event of an emergency please make your way out of the building as quickly as possible using the closest exit. Do not run, use the lift, or stop to collect your belongings.
If you are exiting from the first-floor workspace or ground floor meeting room, the nearest exit is at the bottom of the stairs, this will take you out on to Wolsey Mews.
If the building has been evacuated please meet at the muster point which is located opposite the main entrance to KTS, on the south side of Caversham Road next to the side return of Poundstretcher. Do not re-enter the building until you have been told it is safe to do so.
There are fire extinguishers located around the building, please do not use these unless you have been trained to do so.
Kentish Town Stores
Kentish Town Stores is an independent coffee shop and lifestyle store, with a focus on delicious fare and hand-crafted wares from UK based makers.
Our opening hours are:
Monday – Friday | 07:30 - 17:00
Saturday & Sunday | 08:30 – 17:00
Last Thursday of the month the store opens late.
With your membership you will receive a 10% discount on food and drink from the store throughout the day. This does not include retail or retail food products, e.g. jams, honey, ground coffee etc.
We are very happy for you to use the store during your day at work if you need a coffee, a lunch break or to meet a friend. We would, however, be grateful if you did not work for long periods in the store itself as this area is required for walk-in guests.
Walk-in guests will be given priority in the store during busy periods, if you are in the store, we may have to ask you to return to your desk or members dining area so we can accommodate other customers.
Liability and Insurance
KTS is not party to, or connected in any way to, any contract or transaction resulting to or from any member activities that take place within the space.
It is the responsibility of the member to ensure they hold all appropriate insurances. KTS will not be responsible for any losses, costs or expenses incurred as a result of any underinsurance.
The space must not be used for any activity that is illegal, immoral, offensive to others or unsafe for other users of the space or which would have a negative effect on the space itself.
Members indemnify KTS against all liabilities (actions, costs, loss of profits etc.) that arise out of their use of the space and facilities therein.
The membership paid for is an agreement to use the facilities and premises as described and is not a lease.
If access to the space is not possible for any reason, KTS accept no liability for losses, costs or expenses incurred as a result.
Membership is not transferable to a third party.
It is the responsibility of the member to familiarise themselves with, and cooperate with, policies implemented by KTS and to observe and adhere to all safety procedures that are put in place by management.
Members are not authorised in any way to make alterations to the space, facilities, furniture or décor.
Members have no right to display any notice or advertisement within or outside of the premises.
Signed Agreement
I acknowledge the above Terms in relation to my membership with KTS and use of the Studio in accordance with my membership.
I am aware that KTS reserve the right to alter these Terms, the membership pricing and/or end the provision of services at any time providing they offer at least seven days written notice. If the changes are substantial, then I am aware of my right to cancel my membership.
I agree to KTS holding my personal information in relation to my membership and to receive direct communications via email, phone or post that are relevant to my membership.
The failure of either party to enforce any Terms as detailed does not constitute a waiver of such Terms and shall in no way affect that party’s right to enforce or exercise the Term at a later date.
These Terms form the entire agreement between the member and KTS and supersedes any prior agreement, or arrangement between the parties, whether oral or in writing.
