Through this collection of large scale vases, Hoodmor worked on an entirely new approach to their process.

As with many production potters, typically the focus is on creating work that is functional and capable of being replicated (or repeated as closely as possible by hand). However, with this collection the collective chose to actively slow down in the studio, moving away from any constraints, being more present, imaginative and intuitive in their work.

Each vase is is a total one off, substantial in size and rich in composition. Together they took a mindful step to work in a new way that was naturally looser and more expressive than their existing work.

STILL Vase I is hand built using the coiling technique, illustrated by hand and fired to a stoneware temperature.
