Lily Pearmain

Lily is a self-taught potter whose route to ceramics was slightly unusual. Following a degree in Russian and then a stint baking sourdough loaves, Lily became fascinated with the processes involved in the making of bread, of which many have translated to her ceramics practice.

Lily works with clean simple forms, driven by experimenting with process and approaches to clay as a material. Predominately using the potter’s wheel, Lily’s work draws on British studio ceramics and the desire to make good, quiet, beautiful and strong pots.
