Brutes Ceramics

an interchangeable vase and incense holder that can be broken into separate pieces or assembled as one.

Emma de Clercq is a London-based ceramicist practicing under the moniker Brutes Ceramics.

With a focus on minimal, durable design, her pieces are made by hand at her studio in Hackney – a co-operatively run pottery studio, Clay Collective, founded by Emma and a group of like-minded makers in 2016.

All items are hand-built using a textured sand-coloured stoneware and glazed (on the interior only) with a transparent gloss glaze. The exterior is left bare in order to highlight the natural texture of the clay. Handles are painted with gloss and satin glazes in a range of colours. Each item is unique and therefore may vary slightly in size and finish.
